Work for the Dole
What is Work for the Dole?
Work for the Dole (WFD) is a Federal Government programme that provides work experience opportunities for eligible job seekers in approved activities which provide communities with activities (facilities and services) which are of value to those communities.
What are the benefits?
By participating in WFD, participants may also earn Training Credits. Training Credit may be used to pay for education or training. Depending on the hours of work completed during a placement, participants may be entitled to receive a Training Credit of up to $800 to pay for accredited education or training assisting participants become more job ready.
Who can volunteer for Work for the Dole?
If you're 18 or over, on full or part rate Newstart or Youth Allowance, you can volunteer for Work for the Dole. By volunteering, you will meet your mutual obligation requirements.

There are also environmental activities designed especially for volunteers who are over 40.

ENET’s Work for the Dole projects
ENET's currently provides a variety of Work for the Dole projects to cater for many people:
  • Multimedia CD Production - Participants will create a CD ROM information pack on the Moonee Valley region, one on local history and another on indigenous flora and fauna.
     
  • Magazine Production - Participants contribute their writing and design skills on articles for our magazine.
     
  • Admin for the Community - Develop admin skills with training and experience while helping the community at the same time. Participants can learn advanced MS Office skills and reception skills in order to help local community organisations with their administration.
     
  • Art & Design - A fun and creative art project making mosaic artworks for the community.
     
  • Other WFD Projects - Please note: ENET may run other Work for the Dole projects that are not currently on this web site
