What is the Australian Access Apprenticeships Programme?
The Australian Apprenticeships Access Programme helps you to obtain work skills that improves your chances of getting a New Apprenticeship. The Australian Apprenticeships Access Programme programme will:
  • Help you work out what you need so you are 'job ready' and keep you on track with your goals
  • Train you in the basic skills needed for a particular industry. This training is nationally recognised and linked to a targeted New Apprenticeship pathway
  • Support you while you are looking for work by helping you with such things as working out the best job opportunities, writing an effective Resume/Curriculum Vitae and preparing for interviews
  • Provide good support to keep you going if things get tough while you are looking for work
  • Help with settling in during the first 13 weeks of your New Apprenticeship or job.

Can The Programme help?
The Australian Apprenticeships Access Programme is a good way of getting training and support (over a three month period) to help you get a New Apprenticeship, find employment or return to study. We know it isn't easy to find work, but the more skills and support you have, the better your chances are of getting the job you want.

What happens once you commence the programme?
Interview:
First you will attend an introductory session where an employment consultant will discuss and assess your eligibility.

Training:
You must be willing to take part in training and other services your Australian Apprenticeships Access Programme provider might offer you, and be willing to do things that will help you look for and get work, that may include:

  • Working with your Australian Apprenticeships Access Programme provider to agree on the best plan to help you prepare for work or get the skills to look for work
  • Job Search Training (Such as Resume/Application Letter writing & Interview Skills)
  • Information Technology skill development

What Does it Cost?
The Australian Apprenticeships Access Programme is funded by the Australian Government and is free if you are eligible.
