Welcome to
Essendon Network for Employment and Training Inc Traineeship
Program. |
|
|
Who is eligible? |
- Any employee working for at least a minimim 15 hours per week part-time or fulltime
- People who have a Certificate II or less (including no formal credentials)
- There is no age limit
|
|
|
Training costs |
| If you are
eligible then all training associated with the traineeship is free
to the Employer. The materials are a separate cost. The Office of
Training and Tertiary Education funds ENET and pays
the Employer the incentive to encourage Employers to give staff time
away from their routine work. |
| |
|
Who identifies eligibility? |
| We are happy to
arrange for a National Apprenticeship Representative to visit your
workplace and discuss/identify the eligibility and the government
incentive for training your staff. |
| |
|
Advantages: -
upon eligibility |
Trainee =
Nationally Accredited Qualification
Employer = Providing staff with on the job training. Fully qualified
Trainer/Assessor visits the trainee approx. 6 weekly at your
workplace. Government Incentives may apply.
Everyone is a winner .....

Traineeship Categories |
There are two types of categories:
- If signed up within 3 months (if full-time) or 6 months (if part-time) of employment start date,
the trainee is identified as a NEW START. This is the best scenario
because the employer is entitled to the maximum incentive if his
committed trainee completes the traineeship. Note the
best Certificate level is 3 because the incentive is greater than 2.
Refer to ENET brochure.
- After the above periods, the trainee is identified as an EXISTING
worker. We offer the same service, however it is a user pay option and
may also have a government incentive attached to training, depending on
the qualification. This will need to be explained in detail by the
Traineeship Co-ordinator.
The training service provided is exactly the same if they are NEW
START or EXISTING workers. |

|
Out of pocket
expenses to the Employer/Traineee
|
An enrolment fee is
compulsory. If trainee has a valid health care card the cost is $50.00. If no
health care card the cost is $290.00, payable at the induction meeting arranged
by the Traineeship Co-ordinator.
Trainee workbooks. A booklist will be provided to the Employer prior
to or at the Induction meeting. |
| |
|
Our popular courses at Certificate 3 level are: |
- Admin with
different streams ie. legal, medical
- Retail
- Admin
- Community Services (Aged Care)
|
| |
|
How long does the course go for? |
| Usually within 1 year (fulltime worker), longer for a part-time
worker. |
| |
|
Process |
The process begins with an Induction meeting
– the traineeship co-ordinator will make an appointment with the
Employer and Trainee to go through ENET’s documentation as follows:
- Induction pack (information for the trainee re: overview of whole traineeship)
- Service Agreement (Agreement between the Employer and ENET).
- Trainee Booklist.
- Formal plan
- Time-log sheet. The Employer is entitled to give his/her staff
member approx. 3 hours per week (if possible) away from the their
routine work to work on their workbooks. This is why the incentive
is paid.
- Invoice for enrolment fee.
