Here
at Strider magazine, we are composed of a team dedicated in working
together for the greater good of the community. We were all brought
together through a government incentive scheme labeled ‘Work for the
Dole’. Our
ultimate goal is to look at the big picture of how we could use the
community support to help bridge a gap between community and corporate
Australia. Our approach to getting the support of the community is by
producing a web publication detailing our views and concepts of issues
that have affected the community. By
bridging the gap between community and corporate Australia, we seek to
redefine the meaning of the word community and what it represents to
making Australians a unified people. We look to achieve this by getting
all Australians to understand that we are not about ourselves but about
each other. Since
we were brought together through the government incentive scheme, we all
made a decision to work together as a collective, rather than
individuals to work towards the common goal of producing an online
magazine. Each of us was assigned different tasks relating to the
magazine itself. Tasks included article writing, graphics, structure
planning, futuristic development, job searching and confidence building
in search of having everyone open their minds to their fullest
potentials. When
I came into this course, I didn’t know where I wanted to be in my
life. I came into this course looking to learn about the fundamentals of
how to become a graphic artist. This course has given me that freedom.
The freedom to explore new ideas and open my mind to new horizons. This
course has and will continue to change me for the rest of my life.
