| What is the personal support program? |
| The Personal Support Program is a bridge between short-term crisis assistance and employment-related assistance.
The Personal Support Program provides safety net assistance to people with multiple, non-vocational barriers enabling them to access a range of services that will make a difference to the quality of their lives. It is also designed to help participants to achieve outcomes that are relevant and appropriate to individual needs.

| How do people get into the personal support program? |
| Personal advisors and Customer Service Officers at Centrelink identify potential Personal Support Program participants and refer them to specialist Centrelink officers who assess their eligibility for the program and refer them to service providers.

| Who will the Personal Support Program help? |
People accessing the Personal Support Program deserve individualised help because they are in difficult circumstances. Clients may be facing the following:
- Homelessness

Torture/trauma of other stress disorders

Drug/alcohol problems
-
Severe psychological conditions or mental illness
-
Domestic violence
-
Poor communication/language skills
-
Gambling problems
-
Social isolation/alienation
-
Physical or intellectual disability
-
Organic mental disorders or acquired brain injury
-
Long-term unemployment
-
Mood, personality and anxiety disorders

| What is Job Futures? |
| Job Futures is formed by employment and training organisations such as ENET from all over Australia
with extensive experience in assisting disadvantaged job seekers in their local areas.

| What can ENET/Job Futures do for you? |
Job Futures members are trained professionals who understand the types of life challenges people may experience. The personal support coordinator will work on a one on one basis with participants to help them overcome barriers that prevent them from achieving their goals.
Personal Support Program participants can expect to receive the following:
- Individual assessment by trained and experienced coordinators who understand the types of issues participants may face.

Counseling/personal support- this includes guidance, assistance, encouragement, clinical counseling and building self-esteem and confidence

Access referral to other services and agencies to provide more intensive assistance for serious needs.

Practical support to help you participate more freely in the program.

Outreach activities to remote communities.

| What are the benefits? |
The Personal Support Program offers valuable support and assistance by:
- Delivering assistance that matches the abilities, capacity and circumstances of participants.

Streamlining movement from PSP to other reemployment or economically focused programs, particularly Intensive Support Customised Assistance and Disability Employment Assistance.

Allowing participants’ access to the Program for up to two years provided they meet their requirements.
-
Allowing people on activity-tested payments to meet their activity requirements through participation in PSP.
