1923 In 1923 two new shops were built between 494 and 500 Mt Alexander Rd.
1924 - 26 The new buildings were occupied by Miss Margaret Riddell at 496a, milliner; and 496 was E. Saleeba, clothing manufacturer. In 1930 these street numbers were changed to 674 and 676. In 1925 another milliner, Miss A Evans occupied 496a.
1927 L.V. Francis, boot repairer started business at 496a; and Saleeba closed during the year
1928 - 29 496a Francis; 496 Miss E. Kyne, clothing manufacturer and in 1929 W. Dean, tailor
1930 - 34 In 1930 the street numbers were changed, 496 became 674, Mt Alexander Rd. Francis was the sole business at 674, during this period.
1935 - 39 674 Francis; and at 674a , Mrs M. A. Grant, mantles (dressmaker). In 1939 Grant's mantle manufacturing business was named Tocsa Manufacturing Co.
1940 - 47 674 Francis; and at 674a Northern Bedding Co., bedding manufacturers. In 1942, the building at 676 was vacant and by 1943 the Northern Bedding Co. had expanded to 674-676 Mt Alexander Rd.
1948 -50 In 1948 Empress Modes, frock manufacturers, moved in at 674-676. The boot repair business operated by Francis at 674 closed in 1950, after 23 years
1951 - 59 In 1951 L.R. Dunbier, engineering, moved into 674; and 674-676 Empress Modes
1960 - 74 674-676 Empress Modes
1989 Baby Grand nightclub opened in August, owned by John Carnival & Family
2003 Baby Grand nightclub closed on the 22nd November
2003 Cubby House nightclub opened on 12th December
