The City of Moonee Valley

History Online

The History Online project is a Work for the Dole project initiated by Essendon Network for Employment and Training. The project aims to create an online history resource that our local community; including schools, libraries and other community organisations, can access and contribute to. We are researching the history of significant sites, events and people within the City of Moonee Valley and surrounding suburbs.
Work for the Dole is a Commonwealth Government funded initiative that enables participants to do work for their community while they are unemployed. Participants gain valuable work experience in research, writing and web page design, and bring many individual skills to the project. Many thanks to everyone who has contributed to History Online, especially the staff at Sam Merrifield Library and the wonderful history resources we had access to.
